We are sad to announce that we have come to a decision to cancel the Poole Festival of Running 2022.

The Festival of Running is one of the largest, fully volunteer organised, running events in the south, and is complex to organise and requires a great number of volunteers and key leadership roles to run smoothly and safely.

This year there are a number of areas where key volunteers are unable to commit to the event, and the three-year gap since the previous festival in 2019 has created knowledge gaps within the volunteer teams. The festival committee has assessed the risks that this presents and have sadly come to the conclusion that we could not be completely satisfied that we could run it safely and efficiently in June. We have therefore decided to cancel the 2022 Poole Festival of Running.

Looking ahead, planning is already underway to train up new volunteers in leadership positions, and we aim to be able to bring you the Poole Festival of Running in 2023, so please keep an eye on our social media pages for any updates!

It is not only the running community that will suffer from the cancellation of the festival, it is also the Poole Hospital Charity who have received thousands of pounds in donations over the years. So we would love it if you would consider donating your entry fee to the hospital. However, if you would like a refund you will need to provide us with your bank details so that we can refund your entry fees back to you.

For either option, please use the form: https://poolerunningevents.co.uk/poole-festival-of-running-2021-refund/. Please note that if you request a refund then this may take a few weeks as it all has to be done manually by our volunteers.

Again, we apologise for the cancellation of this year’s event but hope to see you in 2023.
